Metallic streamers
Posted On: 02/10/2008 16:31:18

We've been working on several metallic streamers, most streamers with marabou would shrink when water tounched the material thats why we tried several materials. We started using metallic fibers for the tail of Mr.Copper which we blended Electric copper and Gold for the tail, next came the Copper Tri -lobal Hackle which replaced regular hackle that would give the color and movement that was needed. We were looking for a streamer that was flexable, colorful, durable which would catch a Trouts attention. It took two years of developing and field testing to get the streamer to the stores for sale. For the weighting of the streamer we went with heavy red copper wire ( 030 ) and a large copper bead with a large copper cone head. By using this type of weight we got great tail movement plus it sank very quickly. The next test was field testing in Georgia,NC,Tenn,Kentucky and Montana, after two years of testing  Mr.Copper had became a success for our team. Built and designed by Steve Lamb of Georgiaflyguide based out of Georgia. For any questions about the streamer please ask! Some photo's can be found at www.georgiaflyguide.com or www.flyfishblogger.com  I'm working on a video on tying this streamer.......
