Hi John, The fishing here has been pretty good. There are a lot of steelies in the coastal rivers. My friends and I are heading over to the Nestucca this weekend to see if we can hook up with a native. How bout you, how has the fishing been in the Seattle area? I have always thought about going up that way to fish those big steelhead rivers. Never been there and it is probably better for me to go with someone who knows the river before I go alone.
Yes I agree Bryan O'Keefe is very tallented I know of a secret place here where I live in central Utah ( I live about 20 minuetes from the Provo River ) they say there are a few fish in this river something called a Blue Ribbon Fishery??? chat later........dave
Hey buddy fishman Paully here sorry it took so long to answer you. i just got back from Guatamala sail trip and then i had to work the Miami Boat show. But to answer your question i mainley fish for poons up here is St.Pete we do pretty good too have been averaging 10-20 per day and big ones too i'll have to send you some pics if you want. we took 40 over 200 last season however not on fly the largest was 226# largest in 74 yrs of the suncoast tarpon round up. Lately ive been concentrating on huge reef donkeys on the fly anywhere from 65-100 lbs on 12 and 15 weights i want that record on an 8wt but its just so much work 4 plus hour fight in 220 ft of water. let me now if you want to come up some time !!! and if you would like to see any photos.
yah Im from NE Iowa i took the guide schooling out at Hubbards Lodge in Montana this last August. Looking for a job right now I have Eben the man in charge with the guide school helping me look right now. Trout dude I love my trout, Spring Creek Trout But im just trying to get out there and get a job more out west.
I love to fish for Rainbows but fish for all species depending what will take the hook. I am heading up to the Brule in April for the Steelhead run, never been so it should be fun. I just started fly fishing last June of 07 and started tying last week so lots of fun to be had. What is your best friends name from St Paul, I may have met him at the local Trout Unlimited meetings? Cheers, Russ
So where are you located? What kind of fishing do you do most often? Any favorites as far as species are concerned?
I live in NJ but happen to have a job that entails alot of travel. I've fished in the Keys, Idaho, Argentina, Norway, and western BC. OIf course teh jersey coast. Fishing for Tarpon and sea run Browns was pretty spectacular
