Lambster-thanks for the comment.
43 years ago my father and his family became the caretakers of a great adirondack camp(upstate NY) called Camp Uncas which was once owned by J.P. Morgan. No kidding. During those summer months my dad and his brother took their fishing rods and explored the pools of the nearby Uncas River. The river lies in the heart of the Adirondacks and is very hard to access. During their exploration they found one pool on the entire river that held giant native adirondack brookies(probably because of some springs) that had definately never been touched or seen before. Now 43 years later my dad decided to take me and we hiked 2 miles into the adirondack wilderness to find the one pool now legendary to me. When finally reaching the pool we got up on a grassy bank. The first cast produced a nice take but I lost the nice 13 inch brookie as it jumped airborn. The next cast produced a beautiful female of 12 inches. After taking some picture we carefully released the fish. nothing on the third cast but the fourth would be rewarding. After a strong hit we began to see the color of the fish below. We brought him on shore and I just stared at the most beautiful fish I had ever caught. After many nice photos we released the brute back into the great pool. I would have been happy if we had stopped fishing then. But we didn't. after catching and releasing 2 more females we stopped fishing and treked back to our car. In all a good day of fishing and i will be going back again this summer. Nice job on the 4 pound Brookie.
